  • No, you donโ€™t need a referral. In Australia, physiotherapists are licensed as first-contact health practitioners, which means you can book an appointment directly if you have a physical issue you'd like help with.

Your physiotherapist can refer you for an X-ray if necessary, issue a medical certificate where appropriate, andโ€”if neededโ€”communicate with your GP with your consent.

However, if eligible, through your GP you can claim up to 5 bulk-billed physiotherapy sessions per calendar year through Medicare under an EPC (Enhanced Primary Care) or Chronic Disease Management Plan. Consult with your GP to see if you're eligible.

  • Yes, physiotherapists can issue a medical certificate where appropriate.

  • Absolutely! Physiotherapy is a vital part of the recovery process after surgery. We focus on restoring movement, strength, and function while helping you manage pain effectively.

  • During your first visit, weโ€™ll conduct a comprehensive assessment to understand your symptoms, health history, and goals. From there, weโ€™ll create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs.

  • Our initial appointments last about 30-40 minutes and include an assessment of your condition, movement, and muscle function, followed by treatment, exercises, advice, and a care plan. Follow-up sessions take 20โ€“30 minutes.

  • This varies depending on your condition, goals, and response to treatment. After your initial assessment, your physiotherapist will provide a recommended treatment plan.

  • Loose, flexible clothing that you can easily remove is best. Depending on the area being treated, the physiotherapist may require you to change clothes to fully assess any problem area.

  • Please arrive 10 minutes early for your first appointment to complete important paperwork, including a patient information form and health screening. The details you provide help your physiotherapist tailor your treatment safely and effectively, taking into account your medical history and overall health. We may occasionally ask you to update this information to ensure your records remain accurate and up to date.

  • If you have relevant X-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI, or nerve scans, please bring these and the reports with you to your initial visit. This helps us better understand your condition and tailor your treatment.

  • We accept cash, credit/debit cards, and most health insurance plans. If youโ€™re unsure about your coverage, feel free to reach out to our admin staff for assistance.

  • Yes, we work with most major insurance providers. Please bring your insurance information with you to your first appointment, and weโ€™ll help confirm your benefits.

  • We ask that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule. This allows us to offer the time slot to another patient. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a fee.

  • Physiotherapy should not be painful, though some techniques or exercises may cause mild discomfort as your body adapts. We always work within your comfort levels and adjust the plan and treatment accordingly.

  • You can book by calling our clinic, using our online booking system, or emailing us directly. Walk-ins may be available depending on schedule, but appointments are highly recommended.
