Patellar Tendonopathy: Managing Jumper’s Knee Pain

What Is Patellar Tendonopathy?
Also known as jumper’s knee, it’s an overuse injury of the patellar tendon connecting the kneecap to the shinbone.

Causes:

  • Repetitive jumping or running

  • Sudden increase in training intensity

  • Muscle tightness or weakness

  • Poor biomechanics

Symptoms:

  • Pain and tenderness below the kneecap

  • Pain during or after activity

  • Swelling or thickening of the tendon

  • Reduced strength or function

Physiotherapy Treatment:

✅ Biomechanical correction and taping
