What Is Patellar Tendonopathy?
Also known as jumper’s knee, it’s an overuse injury of the patellar tendon connecting the kneecap to the shinbone.
Causes:
Repetitive jumping or running
Sudden increase in training intensity
Muscle tightness or weakness
Poor biomechanics
Symptoms:
Pain and tenderness below the kneecap
Pain during or after activity
Swelling or thickening of the tendon
Reduced strength or function
