Ulnar Nerve Entrapment: Causes, Symptoms & Physio Management

What Is Ulnar Nerve Entrapment?
This condition involves compression of the ulnar nerve, most commonly at the elbow (cubital tunnel) or wrist.

Causes:

  • Repetitive elbow bending or leaning

  • Prolonged pressure on the elbow

  • Previous injury or inflammation

Symptoms:

  • Numbness or tingling in the 4th and 5th fingers

  • Weak grip or clumsiness

  • Pain along the inner elbow or forearm

Physiotherapy Treatment: ✅ Nerve gliding and mobility exercises
✅ Elbow padding or night splints
✅ Manual therapy for nerve pathways
✅ Postural and ergonomic education

Long-Term Recovery:
Physiotherapy aims to restore normal nerve mobility and function while preventing re-compression. Long-term changes to posture and habits support ongoing recovery.
